Projects

The O’King Foundation has several projects ready to be implemented in the Borgne Oboy commune in Haiti. Introducing them will require time, patience, and financial resources, but they’re all feasible. The projects are set to start as soon as possible and are aimed at the agricultural and renewable energy sectors.

What Are the Agricultural Projects?

For now, the O’King Foundation has two agricultural projects in mind:

  • A Chicken Plant

The Borgne Oboy commune offers a prime terrain for raising chickens en masse. Given the required infrastructure, multiple chicken plants could be constructed. Chickens would be raised for eggs, and the eggs would be sold to retailers. Of course, these chicken plants would offer natural products to the locals as well. Both chicken meat and eggs would be readily available at all times.

Building a chicken plant would also address the unemployment problem in some of the poorer areas of Borgne Oboy. This domain isn’t too complicated either, and the workers would quickly learn the skills necessary to maintain a chicken plant running. The products could be marketed as bio-made, leading to more revenue trickling down into the pockets of the locals.

  • A Fresh Water Plant

Another essential thing the Borgne Oboy commune needs is a freshwater plant. There’s a serious issue with potable water here. Many locals were driven sick by the lack of potable water, and in many cases, the water sources are too far away. A freshwater plant would send bottled water straight to their homes, solving this problem.

The bottling process would take place at the water plant. The water would then be transported to every household when an order is placed. This will improve the locals’ quality of life and also create a few more jobs. The knowledge to operate the freshwater plant will be taught through our educational projects, in the field.

Improving Borgne Oboy with Renewable Energy

In the renewable energy sector, the O’King Foundation wants to bring solar panels to Borgne Oboy. Using solar power instead of electricity will greatly reduce household maintenance costs and provide an eco-friendlier alternative. It’ll also address the poor economic situations of many households in this Haitian commune. At present, many residents don’t use electricity at all because they can’t afford it.

Bringing solar panels and retrofitting the energy sector would greatly improve the residents’ quality of life. Through our educational projects, we would also teach the locals how to best use solar panels and how to maintain them. This will bring more jobs and more opportunities to many of the locals.

What Are the O’King Foundation Projects Aiming For?

Our only goal is to help the Borgne Oboy commune develop socially, economically, and professionally. We want to improve the lifestyle and quality of life of the people living here. They need help and we’re capable of offering it. Whether it’s through agriculture, finance, or education, we want to make a difference and help Borgne Oboy develop.

This isn’t a short-term project but rather a more enduring task that will require time, patience, and consistency. But we’re up to the task and believe we can do it. With help from volunteers, these projects will be completed even faster. We also employ professionals with expertise in heading these projects.

The projects will mainly rely on teaching the locals how to make use of what we build here. The chicken farm, water plant, and solar panels can’t be operated without technical know-how, more or less. That’s why our educational projects will make it a priority to educate the Borgne Oboy residents in harnessing the utility of our other projects!
